Dermal fillers have been called “liquid facelifts” because they offer many of the benefits of a surgical facelift without the downtime.

Not all fillers are created the same. Some target different areas of the face, and more importantly, produce different effects. Fillers are liquid or gel substances, like hyaluronic acid, that diminish lines by pushing up the dermis space beneath wrinkles and creases. Results appear immediately, and can last up to several months or up to a year.

Injectable dermal fillers can plump thin lips, enhance shallow contours, soften facial creases, remove wrinkles and improve the appearance of recessed scars. Although they can’t help with excess sagging skin, these soft tissue fillers can add more volume and provide immediate results at a lower cost than surgery. These treatments aren’t permanent, however, and they must be repeated and maintained.
